Before You Brew
Three things that matter
The Naad roastery — where every bean is dialled in with intent.
The Coffee
Specialty coffee is defined by quality at origin — the farm, the variety, the process. Each Naad bean is single-origin, traceable, and roasted to reveal its natural character.
Fresh is everything. Coffee degasses in the days after roasting — brew within 10–28 days of the roast date for the best result.
The Grind
Grind size determines extraction speed. Too fine and the cup turns bitter. Too coarse and it tastes flat. Each method has its sweet spot — our guides include the texture reference to help you match it by feel.
A burr grinder gives you consistency. Blade grinders don't — and you'll taste the difference.
The Water
Water is the foundation of every cup. The right water unlocks sweetness, clarity, and the true expression of the coffee. Use filtered or spring water — never distilled, never hard tap.
Temperature matters as much as grind. Each method has its ideal range — a few degrees in either direction changes the cup completely.
Brew Methods

Chemex
An iced pour over — precision and patience in every pour.
Clean · Smooth · Balanced
The Chemex rewards patience. Its thick bonded filter removes oils and fine particles, producing one of the cleanest, most nuanced cups you can make at home — ideal for revealing the subtlety of single-origin beans.
Bloom first: pour twice the weight of coffee in water, wait 30–45 sec, then continue pouring slowly in spirals.
French Press
Full Body · Rich · Bold
No paper filter means the natural oils stay in the cup — giving French press its distinctly full, round character. The easiest method to master, and one of the most satisfying to drink.
Pour immediately after pressing. Leaving it in the press continues extraction and turns the cup bitter.
AeroPress
Sweet · Smooth · Balanced
Fast, forgiving, and versatile. The AeroPress is almost impossible to get wrong — pressure-brewed in under 3 minutes with almost no bitterness. Works exceptionally well with Naad's washed and honey processed coffees.
Lower water temperature (85°C) works well here — it brings out sweetness without bitterness.
Moka Pot
Dense · Velvety · Strong
The stovetop classic — concentrated and bold, with a richness that's unmatched for its simplicity. Great as a base for milk drinks at home. Use already-hot water in the chamber to avoid scorching on the way up.
Preheat your water before adding to the bottom chamber. This speeds extraction and prevents a bitter, burnt taste.
South Indian Filter
Rich · Strong · Intense
The traditional South Indian filter produces a deeply concentrated decoction — slow-dripped through a stainless steel filter. Serve with hot milk for the classic kaapi. A ritual as much as a recipe, and one close to Naad's roots in Hyderabad.
Press the grounds lightly with the plunger disc. Don't pack hard — water needs to drip through slowly, not stop completely.
Cold Brew
Cold drip — slow, deliberate, extraordinary.
Smooth · Mellow · Low Acidity
Time does the work here. Cold water extracts coffee slowly and gently, producing a naturally sweeter, low-acid concentrate that's silky smooth. Make a batch and keep it in the fridge for up to a week.
The longer the steep, the stronger the concentrate. Dilute with water or milk to taste when serving over ice.
Espresso
Bold · Syrupy · Concentrated
A short, high-pressure extraction that concentrates all of the bean's character into 25–35ml. Getting it right demands practice and calibration — but the reward is a depth and complexity nothing else comes close to. The foundation of every cafe drink.
Dial in your grind every time you open a new bag. Even the same coffee behaves differently as it ages — adjust grind finer if your shot runs too fast.
A Naad espresso — the soul of the cup, in its purest form.

Water
The Foundation of Every Cup
The right water unlocks sweetness, clarity, and the true expression of the coffee. Use filtered or spring water — never distilled (it strips flavour) and never hard tap (it mutes delicate notes). Temperature for each method matters more than most people realise — a few degrees in either direction shifts the entire character of the cup.
Storage & Freshness
Protect What the Roast Has Created
Careful storage preserves freshness, allowing the coffee to shine from first brew to last. Keep your beans in a sealed, opaque container away from heat, light, and moisture. Don't refrigerate. Buy only what you'll use within 3–4 weeks of the roast date — freshness isn't a bonus, it's everything.
Temperature & Taste
Let the Cup Unfold
From hot to cool, each sip reveals a new perspective on the coffee's character. Specialty coffee is designed to be tasted as it cools — dark chocolate at 80°C might reveal dried fruit or floral notes by 50°C. Drink slowly. Let it unfold.
"Start with care, finish smooth, let each step settle the mood. Take your time, let it unfold — the richest stories aren't rushed told."
Find the right coffee for your method
Each Naad coffee is roasted to suit specific brew styles. Whether you're pulling espresso or steeping a cold brew overnight, the bean makes all the difference.
